Overview:
During my design internship at 7Classes, an education platform built around confidence-based learning, I worked within the Creative Team to improve the InstaPreps mobile app. It is a study companion designed to make learning more intuitive and motivating for students.
Problem Statement:
7Classes wanted to redesign the InstaPreps app to reflect better their mission of helping students learn with confidence. The existing interface lacked engagement and clarity, making it difficult for learners to stay motivated and navigate the app with ease.
Goal:
The goal was to create an experience that feels simple, encouraging, and aligned with how students naturally learn. The new design aimed to make studying more interactive and confidence-driven through thoughtful visuals and clear information flow.
Research:
I began by understanding how students used the app and what features they found confusing or unhelpful. Based on these insights, I created mood boards, developed a visual style guide, and redesigned key screens to feel brighter, cleaner, and easier to navigate.
Weekly brainstorming sessions and feedback from the design lead played a huge role in shaping my work. I learned to iterate quickly, test ideas with the team, and refine details that made the overall experience more intuitive.
Outcomes:
The redesigned screens made the app more engaging and easier to use. The consistent visual style helped strengthen the brand identity across both the app and marketing materials. Most importantly, the new design supported the idea of learning with confidence rather than pressure.
Learning and Conclusion:
Working on a live app taught me how to balance creativity with practical design constraints.
Regular collaboration and feedback helped me align my work with both user needs and business goals.
Iterating and testing designs taught me that good design is never final — it evolves with every round of insight and feedback.
This internship gave me a first-hand look at how design can influence the way people learn. It strengthened my belief that when design focuses on confidence, clarity, and empathy, it truly helps users grow, not just navigate an interface.
